Illness Prevention

Due to the recent issues with flu outbreaks in Iowa, Central Springs is encouraging some simple illness prevention strategies for the upcoming school year.  All of the following recommendations are from the Iowa Department of Public Health.  You can view their website at www.idph.state.ia.us.

All students and staff are encouraged to:
**Wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water or alcohol based hand sanitizer.  Hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom.
**Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze then throw the tissue in the trash after use.
**Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose
**Stay home if you get sick

Signs and symptoms of the flu are fever over 100 F, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, chills and fatigue.
